WineBear may from time to time offer en-primeur purchases especially for top premium wines. As the wine has yet to arrive in the country you will be charged in 2 phases.
Phase 1 will be the value of the wine net duty and VAT.
Phase 2 will be delivery charge and any taxes if applicable.
If the delivery instructions are under bond to a suitable warehouse then no extra duty or VAT will be applicable. Where as if the delivery is to a private address outside ‘bond’, duty and VAT will be payable prior to delivery. If it is the first time you have purchased in this fashion please do not hesitate to contact our fine wine specialist for complete advice including storage options and cellar advice.
The benefits of buying en-primeur is that if the wine is rare it is the best opportunity to guarantee an allocation. As the wine comes direct from the winery you can also be assured that the condition of the wine is perfect. Finally the pricing is generally lowest at the en-primeur release stage. The downside is that en-primeur campaigns are often between 12-30 months prior to receiving the wines.
Yes, it is a long wait, but for the finest wines in the world it has proved the best way of getting the wines before they sell out or increase dramatically in price.
WineBear stores wines on behalf of it's customers at Vinotheque warehouse, Burton upon Trent, Derby.
This facility is at a stable ambient temperature perfect for long term maturation of wine.
Your wines are kept within either our company account under your private customer reserve code or within your own separate account.
We charge our customers at rates as follows:
6 months - £6/half yr
12 months - £10/yr
36 months - £8/yr
60 months - £8/yr
120 months - £8/yr
All prices are inclusive of VAT
We do accept in bond items which can be case size or less but must be the same type.
We do accept mixed type cases but these must be duty paid items.
It is possible to pick individual bottles or mixed cases from your storage account to have delivered at £0.3 per bottle picked and £2 per 12 bottle cardboard delivery case used.
National fully insured delivery within 3 days on order is at £15 for the first case and £5 there after. Larger deliveries are charged at cost

How does it work?
You contact us and a personal organiser is selected who will be yours until the wedding. They will discuss the relevant aspects of the day including budget, food, guests, drinking habits, location, wine list printing needs and more.
Then a carefully chosen selection of wines is delivered for you to enjoy and feedback to us. The wedding wines are then chosen and quantities confirmed, although all is changeable up until 3 days prior to the event. A delivery location is agreed, be that venue, caterer, yourself and a date and specific time is organised.
Having trained staff to be on hand to aid in setting up, serving and presentation is optional as are any wine equipment; ice buckets, cork screws, pourers, glassware etc.
Finally there is a collection and refund service for any unused wine which can be at the end of day breakdown or post event from a different location.

WineBear offers a unparalleled service. We set you up an online account which lists a variety of wines from individual bottles, mixed cases, full cases of drinking wine, premium and fine wines. We can also offer full cellar creation including wine fridges, racking and storage both on-site or off-site in a recommended wine warehouse.
Your guests can log in, read descriptions, and buy wine with all standard payment options and for those not internet savvy a hard copy can be posted with order form & S.A.E alongside a telephone shopping option.
A delivery date is then organised which can be after your honeymoon and your wines are delivered along with a brochure on your wines including tasting notes, drinking windows and food matching recommendations.
